Wayang Kulit is traditional puppet show in Java, most popular in Solo and Yogyakarta. It was dubbed as Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible of Heritage by UNCESCO in 2003. Its story was derived from the Indian folktale of Ramayana and Mahabharata. Nevertheless, Wayang Kulit takes its own turn to the story and made it a popular show among the people as it tells about the good and bad things that could happen in life. In recent time, the story teller called Dalang even inserted joke on democracy or corruption that touches the very aspect of people's concern. And this is what made wayang remains a popular culture among the people.
